The first stage of the playoff will take place from November to December in 2026, featuring six participating teams. The top two will advance to the second stage, which is scheduled for February 2027.
This final phase will see participation from two teams representing North America and Caribbean Football Confederation, one team from South American Football Confederation, and another team from UEFA.
A draw will determine three groups among these six teams as they compete for the last three spots in the tournament. Notably, teams from the same confederation cannot face each other during this round.
